Home   Welcome on the website of SERRED.   SERRED was formed in 1975 in order to give all European Steel Drum Reconditioners a central platform to make representation to official bodies who make the Regulations and Laws affecting their business. Since that time, the product base has increased to include both Plastic Drums and Intermediate Bulk Containers   It also had as a principal intent a base to assist all members to work within acceptable guidelines of Responsible Container Management. The Mission Statement read : SERRED promotes the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible design, manufacturing, collection, reconditioning, remanufacturing and re-use of reusable industrial packaging, including preparation for recycling at the end of its useful life.   SERRED obtained official Observer status at United Nations Committee of Experts meetings, and spoke for the world reconditioning industry in this important forum, In 1988 there was formed the International Confederation of Container Reconditioners, of which SERRED was one of three founder members, the others being from USA and Japan. At that time the seat at Geneva, previously held by SERRED was passed over to ICCR in order to have a total international representation.
